First Waves: Glasgow

"It was such a pleasure to start the First Waves project at the Glasgow Women’s library. The supportive environment created by the Library helped to create a safe space – with homemade food, the sharing of art and raw experiences and allowed me to experience the warmth of a culture that I am distantly linked to. The images we created counter many of the stereotypes about South Asian Women and the work we produced was revealing and inspiring. Finding out about their experiences as women of colour in Scotland through all the areas of engagement that the library offers, was enlightening."
