Coming to a part of London that I have never been to before allowed me to experience not only the tight knit community but also the magnificent Brutalist architecture which Thamesmead is so famous for. Despite the modernity the people I met really showed a sense of pride for a place that has so many different cultural groups coinhabiting in what could sometimes feel like a village within a city. The Peabody Hub in Thamesmead acts as a place where people can come for information, to see art and to take part in projects like First Waves. It was a pleasure to work with such diverse community groups and to create such arresting images with them
